Nearly left out of the Wizard of Oz by the suits who thought the film was too long, the authors of Over The Rainbow (Yip Harburg and Harold Arlen) fought for it, and won. This is a sort of late-night, blues-influenced reading of it. It's a song that seems to prosper with listeners regardless of the style or reading. This poignant reading is filled with longing and a bittersweet, if unjustifiable, hope.
